If you’re looking to drive passive traffic to your website or blog one thing you’ll want to focus on is SEO. Search engine optimization is definitely great.
However, it could be time consuming and slow to produce the desired results. To ensure that you achieve the best you’ll need to do a lot of research, content writing and of course, backlinking to get on the first page of the search engines.
In one of my researches some time ago I came upon a video by one internet marketer that I have much respect for – Neil Patel. In case you’re not familiar with Patel, he is a New York Times best selling author and a top influencer on the web. He was recognized as a top 100 entrepreneur under the age of 30 by President Obama and a top 100 entrepreneur under the age of 35 by the United Nations.
In this video Patel shares with us 3 powerful tips on finding the right keywords to rank #1 on Google.
I rank number one for one of the most competitive key terms out there on Google.
Can you take a guess what it is?
It’s online marketing. You know what?
Guess how much money that one keyword makes me?
Little to nothing.
Because I picked the wrong keyword to rank number one for.
Hey everyone, I’m Neil Patel, and today I’m gonna share with you how to find the right keywords to rank number one on Google for.
The first tip I have for you is go put in your competitor URL, in Semrush. What Semrush will show you is your most popular pages, that your competitors are getting getting traffic for.
This will give you ideas of what your competitors are doing. If your competitors are bigger than you, they probably know what they’re doing, and they’re probably going after keywords and traffic, that’s converting into leads and sales.
You wanna make sure you look at your strategy before you come up with your own. Once you’ve figured out their most popular pages, go take those pages and go put them into Ahrefs.
Ahrefs will show you how many links each of those pages have, and you know what the hardest thing is, is to build links?
What you wanna do is go look for the most popular pages that has the least amount of links. That means those are the pages you should be focusing on first. It’ll give you ideas on all the keywords that your competitors are ranking for when they don’t have a ton of backlinks.
That’ll give you idea of the ones you should be targeting first, ’cause not only will they drive you a lot of traffic, but they’re the lease competitive because you don’t have to build backlinks.
The second tip I have for you is use Google Search Console. Did you know that Google gives you a free tool that helps you rank number one? Yes, it’s called Google Search Console. It breaks down all of your rankings, the key words that your pages are getting traffic for, and even the positioning as page 1, page 2, page 3, the six spot on page one, right? It breaks down exactly where you’re ranking.
Now the cool part about Google Search Console is when you dive deep into each of your pages using the search analytics, it shows you all of the impressions that you’re getting for keywords that you’re on the bottom of page one for. The reason you wanna go after the keywords that you’re at the bottom of page one for, it’s way easier to rank number one for a keyword, that you’re already on the first page for, versus going after a brand new keyword that you’re not even in the top hundred for.
Going after a brand new keyword that you’re not even in the top hundred for, is a lot more work than going after one that you’re already on the bottom of page one for.
While you realize that Google Search Console is that you rank for a lot of long tail keywords at the bottom of page one, that you’re not even trying to go after, but yet they drive traffic, and they convert visitors into customers.
So once you have those keywords, you wanna look at them, and Google Search Console shows you all these keywords. You wanna then go to your landing page, and make sure that those keywords are are in your title tag, your meta description, your heading tag, and within the content of your page. By doing that, you’ll slowly start increasing your rankings for those pages that you’re at the bottom of page one for.
The last tip I have for you to finding amazing keywords is to use Google Trends. It’s another free tool by Google. It breaks down keyword traffic from web images, news.
This breaks down what keywords are climbing in popularity, and you wanna go after the keywords that aren’t popular yet, but are climbing.
Foe example, Apple has a ton iPhones, right? I don’t know what’s the next one they’re gonna release, but let’s say it’s the iPhone 100. If they’re gonna release the iPhone 100, you wanna talk about it before everyone else is talking about it, because the moment you’re one of the first adopters, one of the factors that Google has when it comes to rankings is time.
It’s hard to outrank older pages. It’s not impossible, it’s just harder, so why not be one of the first people to blog about new terms that aren’t popular yet. So, let’s say the iPhone 100 is coming out. You can be blogging about it. You can be blogging about iPhone 100 cases, iPhone 100 apps, new features that they have, and even if you don’t know ’em all, just blog about the ones you do know about. You could even make your own predictions. Let’s say you don’t even know anything about the iPhone 100.
You could be writing articles about huh, here’s my 10 predictions for the iPhone 100. Even if they’re wrong, that’s okay. You’re not lying to people. As long as you’re taking really good educated guesses, and providing amazing content, people won’t have issues.
So write about new upcoming keywords, because you’re not gonna get traffic from them right away, but in two, three months, or even a year, you’re gonna be dominating, because no one else went after those keywords before you did. Just think about green tea, and acai berries, and all of those hot crazy nutrition terms. Yes, they’re really popular now, and they’re buzz words, but back in the day, no one was really looking at them.
If you’re not sure what keywords are up and coming, just tell me the keyword, or link in the comments below using the Google Trends link, and I’ll tell you if it’s a good keyword, or a bad keyword, if it’s up and coming, or it’s declining.
That way you’re not wasting your time writing articles on stuff that won’t be popular.

In this post I want to share with you 4 online business ideas that you can start right now. While the earlier post dealt mainly with businesses you can run offline, these ideas are geared towards those who would rather start an online business.
In recent times, online businesses have become very popular as more and more people are looking online to beat the economic meltdown. Unfortunately, many who want to go this way are finding it difficult to make a headway because of the various business opportunities out there.
Truth is, many of what is being laundered online as #home business opportunities are nothing but scams perfected by con-artists. This article is therefore a simple guide to help you with the different online home business models out there.
Online Home Business Categories
After about 10 years online, I can say the different types of online businesses can be divided into three broad categories. These are:
- Selling products or services to retail customers
- #Selling on eBay; and
- Business-to-business selling.
When you are looking at creating and #starting an online business therefore, you’ll want to look at what your specialty is and then create your business around one of these three broad categories.
If you decide on selling to retail customers, you will have to find a way to sell your products or services in a different manner than many of the other retail websites out there. If it is selling on eBay, then you’ll have to find a wholesale distributor of products from whom you can procure your products at a great discount. If you already work within the business-to-business forum, this will be an easy transition for you.
Suggested Home Based Online Business Ideas
The following home based online business opportunities all fall into these three categories. Any of them will help you start and build your own online home business.
1. Freelance Writing
The first one that we will look at is to become a freelance writer. This is a very good way for you to #make money if you need some part-time income. While you can make it a full-time venture, I wouldn’t advise that. This is because it is not only tedious but also time consuming. However, it can be a great way to start and get your feet wet working online. The experience gained can come handy in creating something bigger
2. Building Niche Sites
Another way you can work in creating a home-based online business opportunity is to work on building a website around a particular theme or niche. Your source of income for these types of websites is mainly affiliate products and maybe selling advertising.
These types of websites do not require a great deal of money upfront. If you commit to doing this, it can build up into a very nice part-time or full-time income in no time. Of course, you may not see instantaneous results but if you take time every day to work on developing your websites you’ll be pleased with the end result.
One of the keys to succeeding with this business is in finding cheap keywords and creating your website content around them. Also you will need to build backlinks from other similar sites. By doing this you’ll be setting yourself up to have a high page rank, which is critical to ranking on the search engines.
Sites built this way can easily drive organic traffic from the search engines. Google adWords is another great way of driving traffic to your niche websites. This is another powerful way of creating an online business.
3. Selling on eBay
Another way you can build and create an online business is through eBay. This is an area which was particularly hot several years ago and still remains a solid business proposition. Many over the years have been able to make a full-time income on eBay.
You will need to find a wholesaler where you can get products at a discount to sell on eBay. The general idea when selling on eBay is to find a drop-shipper. A drop-shipper is either a manufacturer, a retailer, or a wholesaler to whom you can transfer customer orders and shipment details so that they can ship the goods directly to the customer. You will simply need to buy the product at the wholesale price and then make money on the difference between the amount you bought the product and what you sell the product for on eBay.
Using a wholesaler allows you to focus on selling the product without worrying about inventory. You do not need to worry about any sort of shipping or back-end but you will want to make sure that everything gets sent out. If there are problems with shipments, the customer will be coming back to you and not to the wholesaler.
For the best wholesale shipping directory on the Internet go to worldwidebrands.com.
This is another good way of building a lucrative online business. One quick way to find affiliate programs is by visiting www.affiliateprograms.com. There are different categories for you to choose from. Some of the categories you would want to focus on are finance and investment, food and beverage, automotive, and health and fitness.
Ensure you read and understand the listed sites because each affiliate program have their own terms. You will want to visit the website to learn more about what they do since you will be spending a great deal of your time promoting them.
Also, with each of these affiliate programs, you should consider how much you would be making by selling each of these. You’ll probably find several programs that seem interesting to you so see which one peaks your interest and pays well and head for that opportunity.
The internet has given us unimaginable options of making money doing what we love. With the right knowledge and guidance you can turn any of these options into a lucrative business. Research any of these online business ideas and with some creativity you can profit with the one of your choice.
Do you own a business enterprise or, are you working in the marketing industry?
If you answer yes then it’s important that you understand all the ins and outs of marketing online. Unfortunately, promoting a business online has become rather more complex in recent years, and there’s a lot to get your head around.
For example, if you own a business, you need to know what services you should invest in. on the other hand, if you are an internet marketer, you should understand what services your customers will be interested in buying. Two different groups but the information is just as important for both.
We need to start by examining the question, has internet marketing taken the place of offline promotion. Will offline promotion soon be obsolete?
I’ll give a resounding yes to both questions. My reason for that lies in the first form of internet marketing that we are going to discuss and dissect. Never forget the fact that we are today living in a digital world where the internet now plays a major role in dealings whether it be our social interactions, entertainment, education, or business. So understanding how to market your business online is something you mustn’t handle with levity.
That being said, here are…
5 Forms of Internet Marketing You Should Know & Use Today
What is SEO? SEO stands for search engine optimization. It’s a way of ensuring that a website is seen online. By using SEO, you ensure a business site is at the top of a search engine results window. If you think about the internet as a series of roads, the different sites are buildings. To get people to stop at your building you have to put signs up. That’s what SEO is. It’s a method of putting up invisible signs that lead users to your site.
Technically, you can set up SEO yourself without any help from any internet marketer. But, as we said, online promotion has become really tricky. It’s harder to make sure that you are in fact having any impact when you DIY SEO. One of the reasons for this is because if Google determines your SEO is not natural, they’ll slap you with a penalty. That will reduce your search ranking leaving you with the opposite of your desired effect. SEO has become more than just link building and using keywords, but it’s a good example of how it works.
You need to make sure you’re using the keywords people search, when looking for the product or service you’re selling. For instance, if you are selling used cars you would make sure you have “used” and “cars.” You might also include pre owned, ford, cheap, local, etc.
Rather than mess around with this themselves, many business owners instead use the help of a professional. That’s where the internet marketer comes into play. They’ll help make sure your business is noticed online and ensure that you don’t get any penalties.
There are two different forms of SEO. These are local and global. Quite obviously, local SEO will attract local users and global will attract global users. That’s why we think offline promotion will soon be dead. Why do you need fliers when you can make sure the people a mile away find your business online? If you’re an internet marketer, you should be offering both these services to get the most clients
2. White Labeling
Now is probably as good a time as any to introduce the concept of White Labeling. White labeling is when an internet marketer works as the middle man. The business speaks to the marketing company to get a service like SEO or perhaps web design. The marketer then uses the services of a white label company to get the job done. 51 Blocks is a white label company that constantly receives high reviews from its partnered marketers.
The white label company will never be seen by the business owner. As a business owner, you’ll be working with the internet marketing company. But a white label company can be vital for a marketing agency that is dealing with excess demand. They’ll handle the jobs you don’t have time for.
3. Social Marketing
Although we do realize some business owners pay the marketing company to use social promotion for them, there’s no need. It’s so easy for a small business to use online networks to boost their profile. For instance, your business might attend a trade show or a conference. If you do, you should be updating your business Instagram account with pictures from this event. Once the pictures start to get shared this increases your search ranking with no cost involved. Or, you can pin a couple of pictures from your site on Pinterest. By doing this, you’ll make users interested in looking at the rest of your web page and get more traffic. Again, this is going to increase your search ranking.
But, it’s not just about sharing pictures. Keeping your profiles up to date with the latest information is important as well. We suppose that’s why business owners hire marketers to manage their profiles. They don’t have time for the daily updates and to add links. But you should make sure this is occurring for your business because it will increase your presence in the online market.
Pay Per Click marketing is an alternate service that you can offer business owners as a marketer. By forming a partnership with a search engine company like Google, you can get your clients website as one of the sponsored links on a search page. Around thirty percent of users click these, so it is an attractive possibility.
However, the business owner should know exactly what they are buying. If you use a PPC service, the amount you pay will depend on how many clicks you get. Does this mean if it doesn’t work, you won’t pay anything? Not quite because there is no guarantee once they click, they’ll purchase. You’re paying for interest, not customers.
5. Web Design
That’s why it’s important you also look at a web design service. By getting your site designed by a professional company, you can guarantee your customers will be impressed when they see it. If they are, they should commit to a purchase, making your investment worthwhile. You should also look into designing a company logo. This will give users an image to associate your business with, in their minds.
There you have it a truly quick guide to marketing online. As a business person if you understand these different forms of marketing, you will know exactly what you need to succeed. The online marketer on the other hand should know these things also for them to be aware of what services their clients will be interested in. I do hope you make good use of this information when setting up your internet marketing strategy.

Online Business-Boosting Selling Tactics
1. Use affiliate programs to multiply your efforts
Start an affiliate program and put your marketing on viral power. For example, package a product, put it on an affiliate networking site or start your own affiliate marketing program. Create a customizable e-book and give it away to your affiliates. Ask them to customize the ebook with their own affiliate links and then give the ebook away for free. Doing this will both create a viral effect for your product as that one ebook will soon begin to pull in links from different sources online.
2. Improve you conversion/traffic ratio
You could change your headline, offer a stronger guarantee, add testimonials, etc. For example, one week you could have your headline say, “How To Lose 5 Pounds In Two Days!” and the next week use, “Lose 5 Pounds In Only 48 Hours!” Just see which one pulls more orders per visitors.
3. Uncover your most valuable leads
One way of doing this is by offering a free e-zine. The visitors who are very interested will subscribe to it. Once they have subscribed, you can sell them related products again and again. Just make sure your e-zine has enough original content to keep them interested.
4. Boost your business exposure by teaming up with your competition
When marketing online your competition is as close as the back of your hand. But instead of treating them as enemies you can actually partner with them by starting an association for your specific industry. Each member could be given graphics to put on their web pages. This would increase your membership and business exposure.
5. Publish an e-zine for your employees
This could motivate them to do a better job or keep them advised on where your business is headed. For example, you could include articles about friendly customer service, being more productive, getting along with other employees, employee profiles, etc.
6. Monitor your brand on social media
Setting up alerts to monitor your brand on social media, news sites and other discussion forums will greatly help you in knowing what others are saying about your brand. Some of the comments you find could help you improve your business. For example, you could find someone complaining about your customer service, an employee, your web site design, product, etc. Then you’ll know what to improve.
7. Attract more people to link to your web site
You can do this by offering them a discount on the products you sell or give them free items for linking. For example, you could say, “Get A Huge 30% Discount On Our E-book If You Agree To Link To Our Web Site For At Least One Month!”
8. Build your own opt-in email list
Give your website visitors a reason to give you their e-mail address. Allow them to sign up to free items and contests. Just get their permission to e-mail them again in the future for other things. For example, you could say, “Sign Up For Your Chance To Win A Color
9. Create a “PR” web page for your business
List information that could be considered newsworthy for e-zines, newspapers, magazines, etc. There are many ways to get into the media, like launching an unusual product, donating a large amount to charity, holding big events, etc.
10. Boost your credibility
By referencing web sites that have written positive stories about your business you will greatly increase your credibility. You could link to them right in your product ad. For example, you could say, “Just See What (name) Magazine Is Saying About Our Newest E-book!”
11. Improve you newsletter subscription through more incentives
Almost everyone is publishing an e-zine nowadays so it’s important to give something extra with the free subscription. You could offer a weekly contest for new subscribers. For example, you could say, “Subscribe And Have A Chance To Win Our Latest Home Study Course!”
12. Provide your visitors with more valuable content.
Your content will be more attractive to your visitors if it’s up-to-date or original. You could also offer people the option to reprint the content in their e-zine or web site. If your content is super original, you could use something like “Never Seen Before” in your titles.
13. Offer a free online directory
The directory could be full of interesting e-books, e-zines, web sites, etc. If people find your directory to be a valuable resource, they will visit it over and over again. You could also put your whole directory into e-book format and allow people to give it away.
14. Give your visitors a free e-book
You could also include your own ad in the e-book and allow other people to give it away. If you don’t want to take the time to write one, you could ask other writers’ permission to use their articles. They will just want you to publish their resource box too.
15. Hold free online classes or seminars
Webinars are becoming the in-thing right now. They could be held in your web site’s chat room or you can use any of the many webinar providers out there. The idea of “live” information will definitely entice people to visit your web site. You will become known as an expert on the topic. You could hold them weekly or monthly to get people to revisit your web site again and again.
16. Give visitors a free entry into your contest or sweepstake
The prizes should be something of interest or value to your visitors. Most people who enter will continually revisit your web site to get the results. For example, if your target audience is business owners, your prizes could be computers, business e-books, business services, etc.
17. Create your own or sponsor downloadable free software
It could be freeware, shareware, demos, etc. You could even turn part of your site into a free software directory. If you created the software, include your ad inside and let other people give it away. You could also allow people to link to your free software directory so they could offer it to their own visitors.
18. Offer free online services or utilities from your web site
They could be search engine submitting, copywriting, proofreading services. The service or utility should be helpful to your target audience. For example, if your target audience is e-book publishers, offer them a free e-book creation service.
19. Give free consulting to people who visit your web site
You could offer your knowledge via e-mail or by telephone. People will consider this to be of huge value because consulting fees can be very expensive. You could also create a product by recording or saving the information you gave them and selling it to them as a handy reference.
20. Give your visitors a free membership to your online club
People want to belong to something, why not your online club? You could also give away a free e-zine for club members only. You could make money by offering a deluxe membership for a monthly fee.
21. Persuade visitors to link to your web site
Give them a freebie in exchange for them linking to your web site. It could be content, software, etc. You could make the freebie even more valuable to them if you allow them to give it away with their own customized links in it.
22. Link to web sites that provide useful information or services for your visitors
If you have many useful links on your site, they may make it their start page. For example, wouldn’t you like to go to one webpage and have on it all the links you like to visit or research?
23. Spice up your web site’s wording by using plenty of adjectives
It gives your visitors a clearer vision of what you’re explaining or describing to them. For example, if you were describing a software program you could say, “This easy-to-use software gently guides you through the whole set up process.”
24. Don’t make your banner ads look like ads
Most people ignore banner ads. Design them to look like content and have people click to read the rest. For example, you could say, “How To Increase Your Sales By 200% by Larry Dotson. To Read Click Here!”
25. Join affiliate programs that go with the theme of your web site
You’ll just be wasting valuable space and time if your visitors aren’t interested in them. For example, if your target audience is softball players, you would want to join affiliate programs that sell softball bats, balls, uniforms, magazines, etc.
26. Market your web site as a free club instead of a web site
This will increase your repeat visitors and sales because people enjoy belonging to groups. You could have a members’ message board, give visitors’ membership IDs, give them membership graphics to place on their web sites, etc.
27. Interact with your online customers on a regular basis
This will show them you care about them. You could use your blog or add a chat room, forum or an online message system to your site. Always be interested in what people have to say, answer their questions, give them compliments, and take the time to talk about things other than just business, etc.
28. Check and update your web site links regularly
If people click on a link and it doesn’t work, they usually won’t risk wasting their time clicking on another one. For example, would you revisit a web site after two of the links you really wanted to click on didn’t work? You probably wouldn’t even bookmark the site.
29. Give visitors a positive experience when they’re at your web site
Provide them with original content and free things. They’ll tell all of their friends about it. You could also persuade them to tell their friends about it by starting an affiliate program. It could pay per sale, per click or per lead.
30. Share customers with other businesses that have the same target audience
Offer their product to your customers if, in exchange, they do the same for you. For example, if your business is selling toys, you could cross-promote a business that sells kids’ games. You both have a similar target audience.
The above are just a few online selling tactics that you can strategically put to use in your business. Of course, all of these may not apply to your business right now but with a little creative thinking you will uncover some unique ways to apply them.
Will love hear what you think of these selling tactics. Are you using any of these right now?
If you start thinking about the most difficult activity that needs to be maintained in your daily life, what would it be?
Surely, that activity is not, in any way, related to your life goals, right?
Okay, does it revolve around your focus on a particular lifestyle you have chosen? Not likely!
Now, no matter how big or small everyday things are, all of them originate from a certain point. Keeping this activity consistent for a longer period of time requires a lot of will power, sacrifice, and dedication from your side.
This is what we call a routine!
It’s definite that keeping up with a daily routine is probably the most difficult activity people face in their lives. In this article therefore, I’ve decided to outline few things that relate to blogging and can be implemented in your daily habits.
Blogging may hold an amorphous form for you at the moment, but once you start doing it yourself, you will start molding this activity into a definite shape that can become part of your daily activities.
Setting your daily goals
Every single thing in your life has to originate from somewhere. You can’t expect to find a way of achieving your goals by taking shortcuts. If you leave steps behind, you will never become the person you could be, because all those steps add to your skills and experience.
When you start making a change, it is always wise to take notes of the steps that you are going to complete the next day. Creating such list will bring expectations from the day you have ahead, but expectations from yourself as well. You will expect yourself to complete the goals that you have set for that day, and you will be highly motivated to accomplish them. If you approach the changes in your life this way, you will find that these daily activities you are trying to introduce to your routine will get easier to accomplish in the long run.
The importance of time management
If only we had more than 24 hours available daily, we would be able to accomplish much more in our lives, wouldn’t we?
Your time becomes shorter and more compressed with all activities imposed by the modern way of living, so these 24 hours seem more like 12 hours when you consider all responsibilities that are putting constant pressure on you. However, we have to accept the truth – you cannot change the length of a day, but you can make a mind-shift and learn how to allocate your time properly. If you approach your activities with the right time management strategy, you will understand that there is time for everything.
This is exactly where blogging can help you elevate your efficiency. Make a checklist and give yourself enough time to feel comfortable in the activities you are undertaking. For example, most bloggers like writing in the early mornings, when there is nothing else to take their attention away. You can also do this during the night, when you have already completed your daily checklist and there is no more weigh on your shoulders for the day, so you can take your time and set your creativity free while you are writing the blog.
While you are making the daily checklist and deciding which tasks to complete first, you should always start with the most spiteful and strenuous task, just to get it out of the way. By giving priority to these tasks, you will have most of the day stress-free. It is important to stay focused while completing that strenuous task. Don’t let anything distract you and don’t indulge yourself in less significant activities. Keeping to your objectives may be difficult at first, but it will become easier as you train your mind and teach it to stay occupied with your goals.
Deadlines are not a pleasant thing, but let’s face it: you cannot be prudent and punctual without setting deadlines. No matter how dreadful deadlines can be, they won’t present a threat for you if you learn how to manage your time properly. When you pre-define your goals, it will be easier for you to stay focused and stay on one task until it’s completed instead of deviating from one task to another. These shifts in your routine will make you a much more efficient person, both in your professional and personal life.
Conclusion: Blogging as a useful activity
Blogging is one of those daily activities that can make your life more balanced. It will help you stick to a proper daily routine by getting up earlier in the morning in order to write a blog, or finishing all your tasks early in order to leave time for blogging in the evening. There is no better use of time than blogging if you want to open your horizons and your mind. If you write your blogs in the morning, you will get a fresh start of the day and you will soon start seeing subtle, but important change in the way you perceive every-day things.
Someone did say about advertising: “A business which aims to sell a great product without advertising is like a man winking in the darkness trying to gain the attention of a beautiful lady!” There is no better way to drive home the importance of online advertising being a powerful tool for building your online business!
In our today’s digital world, online marketing has become a powerful tool for attracting the right type of customers with the help of promotional ads. It is clear therefore that online marketing is definitely not just a buzz word but a necessity for business organizations that cares about their success.
There are different ways you can advertise your products and services online. One of such is Pay Per Click (PPC) adverting as can be seen on places like Google Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs). For example, whenever you use Google’s search engine, it displays two types of results based on the keyword phrase used. One of them is organic results, displayed on the left hand side of the page, while the other is sponsored results usually displayed at the top and right hand side of the page.
Indeed, there are numerous advantages of using PPC advertising for marketing your business online. Some of these advantages include:
1. Traffic Control
The principle of PPC (pay per click) online marketing works this way: the more the people click on the sponsored add, the more the company has to pay to the advertising agency. With this in mind the advertiser can build in ways to control the traffic by limiting the clicks. Most times this is done limiting what is paid for the advert. You don’t have to pay for the entire month or year. The advertising can be done according to your needs. Since click prices vary depending on the key phrases used to trigger the advertisements you can also choose what key phrases to use and thereby control the type of traffic that comes to your site. Google’s Traffic Estimator Tool is a good tool that you can use to check out the cost of specific key phrases.
2. Targeted Users
Users can be targeted more specifically with the help of PPC online advertising. Geo-targeting and scheduling can be very easily done. For example, if you have a big company with branches all over the country, then you will most likely pay for a localized advert in a particular area explaining about the services of the company in that area. Scheduling is of great help, as it is a known fact that internet timings of people depend upon their work load and the time zone of that area. If you post an ad at 12’o clock at night, then very few people will be able to notice it resulting in wastage. Scheduling saves your time, as well as targets specific users.
The biggest advantage of online paid advertising is speed. Going by traditional methods if you try to optimize your website, it might take a lot of time. Poor or no exposure to the users can make your business obsolete. But creating online ads is a very easy task. The ads may even take less than an hour to go online. This not only saves your time, but also provides exposure to the marketing conditions.
4. Specific Targeting
When you click on an organic result, it might take you to the home page of a company. As maximum users visit home page in the beginning, it increases the traffic on that particular home page. Immediate spikes may even kill the website. In a sponsored advertisement only particular page being of use to the consumers is targeted. For example, if you want to buy a cell phone, you need not visit the home page to check the brands. If the company is advertising properly, it will display its specifically famous brands in the sponsored list. This specific targeting controls the traffic and takes users directly to their need without any intermediaries.
As the sponsored results show only specific targeted results, relevancy is improved. You may have to dive in a search engine through lots of pages to reach a page of your interest. Sponsored ads help in providing relevant results for the specific keyword. Search engines also heavily focus on the keywords which have been entered by the user in case of sponsored ads.
6. Targeting Users according to their particular Traits
Every user system is linked with a cookie, which is its unique identifier. These cookies give information to the advertisers, that whether a user checked the ad, or got past it without even clicking it. This helps in serving specific sponsored results to the user according to their traits. This is a highly sophisticated mechanism as the focus is on the needs of a particular user.

If you ask any blogger, content marketing professional or web entrepreneur what their #1 priority is, the answer you will get most of the time is, generating website TRAFFIC!
Indeed, traffic is like the magic wand that opens the door to online riches. Unfortunately, many of us are getting it wrong every way when it comes to generating traffic.
You must know this:
TRAFFIC on its own does not guarantee riches. To get the best from every piece of traffic you generate, that traffic must be the right kind of traffic.
Many a time I’ve heard a lot of online marketers talk about TARGETED traffic but I’ve also discovered that many who advocate this go on to suggest the wrong places where to get that targeted traffic.
For example, the last time you were told to drive targeted traffic to your sites and business blogs where did you go looking for that targeted traffic?
My guess is, other SIMILAR or related sites/blogs, right?
But did you take into consideration that 99% of those sites and blogs are nothing but other businesses trying to drive the type of traffic you are aiming to drive to your sites?
Did you consider the fact that these are marketers like you, who even when they visit your site or blog are only looking to drive more traffic to their sites and blogs?
Indeed, those similar or related sites and blogs are good for link building but not what you will call TARGETED traffic.
This is where you are getting it wrong 99% of the time!
Targeted traffic is simply this:
Getting visitors who already want what you’re selling to your sites or business blogs!
It’s as simple as that. If you are not driving that type of traffic, no matter the high traffic stats you are getting, it will amount to nothing!
So, how do you drive this type of targeted traffic?
1. What Is Your Product?
This is indeed the biggest determinant of how much success you will get from your traffic generation tactics. This could be a physical product, digital product or a service. Whatever that may be, it should be able to meet the needs of your target audience whether it is healing a pain or answering a question. This will be much easier for you if you create your product in response to an existing demand.

2. Who Is Your Perfect Prospect?
This is where many online marketers get it wrong, greatly. As mentioned above if you’re driving mostly other internet marketers who are looking for customers for their businesses, you will end up broke! Your perfect prospect is that person who is online with her credit card in hand ready to buy what you are offering or who is online researching more information about what you are offering.
There are different tools and products out there that will help you determine your perfect prospect. But if you have created your product in response to an existing demand as in #1 above, you would have known your perfect prospect from the beginning.
3. Where Do You Find Your Perfect Prospect?
From my experience online, I have discovered that this is the biggest problem for many online business persons. This problem is biggest if you are in the internet marketing niche. I’ve also seen this among entrepreneur bloggers. In these markets, I’ve discovered that everyone is looking for the same prospect as you are. That blogger who is coming to your blog to post a comment is, most times, doing it because he/she expects you to return the “favor.” Any time you fail to return the favor that is the end of that traffic! (#1 Commandment of Blogging: Thou shall commit to post comments on my and I’ll do the same on your blog if not if not, count me out!)

This is also the case in the make money online niche.
This is why I am always wary of traffic generation tactics that advise you to use keyword phrases that are related to your business to build connections on social media sites like twitter, Google plus etc. Matter of fact is, most of those whom you connect with on the social media sites using those keywords are nothing but other marketers who are looking to create customers for their own businesses.
Just think about it, how many times have you connected with someone on twitter or LinkedIn only to be sent a link promoting some product or service similar to what you are marketing?
I’m sure you get my point here, right?
Now, I’m not advocating that you stop blog commenting or networking with other marketers on social media sites. You definitely can build relationships that will be of benefit to you later on from such connections. But never you regard such as your perfect prospects.
The point here is, 99% of the time, your perfect prospect is not using the same keyword phrase you have in mind! The secret in targeting your perfect prospect is in thinking like your target prospect and using the same lingo they are using!
And that brings us to…
4. What Are They Using To Look For What You Are Offering?
As mentioned in point #3, your perfect prospect is not looking for you with what you think they are using. Again this is where about 80% of the keyword research guides out there are misleading you.
Indeed, keyword tools like the free Google adwords tool are very good when you are looking for your perfect prospect. But unfortunately, most of the results you get from the Google Adword tool, for example, are what some other marketers are using to do keyword research.
These are not looking to buy but to sell!
Over 80% of marketers doing keyword research use Google every month. When you use the Google adwords tool for your research, all of these figures are returned. They may look good but in reality, they are not what you want.
This is why the Google adword tool is faulty for keyword research.
To know what your perfect prospect is using when they are searching for your offerings, it is better to use ecommerce sites like eBay, Amazon and Clickbank.com. The good thing is that there are plugins and keyword tools that will help you determine what people are using to find such sites or in searching within such sites.

Whether you are paying for your traffic or using free methods to drive traffic to your business sites or blogs what you should look out for is your “visitor value.” This will help you determine where and what to spend your money and time on.
Indeed, some traffic generation techniques pay over a longer time than others. Go for such techniques rather than the ones that happen only once. This is the simple reason I am a big advocate search engine optimization.
No traffic beats organic traffic any day any time.
This is one aspect internet marketing you must commit to learn as a blogger or content marketing professional. And as a web entrepreneur if, by any means, you lack in-house resources to effectively create SEO optimized web content for your sites and business blogs, you should get the services of an experienced SEO web content writer to help you write some. This way you will be able to position your sites and blogs to drive the right kind of traffic over time.
Ditch the idea that any traffic is good traffic. That is a recipe for failure. Many businesses who took that route have failed woefully. If you have too much of the wrong kind of traffic you will end up as another statistic in the dotcom trash can. But you cannot fail because you have too much qualified traffic!

So you have dreams of having a successful home based online business, right? And to actualize your dreams you have setup your business site and you’re passionately working on your promotional strategies while looking forward to hordes of traffic flooding your site, right?
But, hold it for a moment. How about a blog, did you add a blog to your home business website? You did? Oh, that’s great!
Fact is if you’re running an online business and you do not have a blog added to your website then you are like a swimmer is swimming against the current! No matter what you may have heard before now, simply setting up an ecommerce website does not guarantee that you will have clients and customers standing in line for your offers. You will need to use different strategies to drive enough traffic to guarantee your business success. This is one reason why you need to add a blog to your home business site because it’s simply an incredible online marketing tool right now.
Now, despite the many gains of adding a blog to your home based business site, there is a big problem faced by those who decide to add a blog to their business sites. This problem is that of concentrating more efforts on updating the blog to the detriment of their business!
This is really a big problem. For example, in running your blog you will need to constantly write highly engaging content, read and reply to readers’ comments, visit other blogs and post comments, be on the social media sites to connect with other bloggers, join blogging communities to connect with others, etc.
While all of these are necessary, the unfortunate thing is that you have just enough time to do all of these and also focus on other areas of running your home based business, especially if you are a solopreneur. And this has resulted in many abandoning their main businesses and becoming “emergency bloggers” without any real goal for their blogs! This is really pathetic and I’m sure you don’t want to be in this situation.
In this post I want to offer you a few tips on how you can effectively incorporate a blog into your business website without endangering your main business. Used well, these tips will definitely help you gain an edge over your competitors who are not blogging.
So, if you are ready, let’s boost your website success with these business blogging tips!
1. Determine Your Business Objectives
Once you’re convinced of the potentials of a blog the first thing you need to take care of before starting that blog is to determine your business objectives and how a blog will be of help in achieving those objectives.
This is definitely important because the key to having a successful blog as a business owner is keeping your goals clear and concrete at every step of your blogging adventure. It can be all too easy to get sidetracked, especially if you are just learning about the exciting possibilities of blogging technology. But if you want your blog to succeed you need to stay focused.
Write up a plan for how often you will update your business blog; how you will promote the blog, how you will retain your blog readership, and of course other areas of your blogging adventure. Once you have these set out, you must ensure that you stick to this plan in everything you do.
2. Get a Good Blog Design
When you use a free blog platform like blogger.com you’re provided with pre-designed templates. But it is a wise thing to go for paid blog services like wordpress.org if you truly want the benefits of a business blog. Using a free service takes the control of your blog from you. In fact, the blog is not yours as the hosting service can pull it down at any time. But if you opt for paid blog service (my advice is go for wordpress.org), you’ll need to get a good designer to design and layout your blog to match your company’s identity and needs.
3. Choose Your Blog Topics with Care
Of course, this should not be a problem since you’ve determined your business and blogging objectives in the first place. You just need to have a line-up of topics you want for your blogs but be sure they are in consonance with your business objectives. Strive to be consistent with your topic all the time. That does not mean you shouldn’t blog about general and unrelated topics that have broad appeal. This could sometimes make your blog more popular. But remember, your blog is there not on its own but a tool for marketing your business.
4. Understand the Do’s And Don’ts of Blogging
There are several blogs out there dedicated to teaching people the dos and don’ts of blogging. Please do READ them! Also include in your reading, blogs that are consumer-based in order to give you ideas on running your business blog. Remember that legal issues are sometimes involved in blogging; it is safer to include disclaimers and limitations of liabilities. Create blogging policies and schedule updates regularly.

6. Use the Right Methods to Promote Your Business Blog
Actively promote your business blog by submitting your blogs to blog search sites and directories. Your blog is like a setup booth in the biggest trade show on earth today. Marketing possibilities are just around the corner waiting to strike your sale scales up. Be sure that your blog contain valuable and exclusive information and ensure that it is constantly updated to keep readers popping in.
Use effective keyword phrases to generate high ranking status in the SERPs. In this way, you have better chances of people finding your business website through your blog. Remember more traffic means more potential sales.
7. Listen to Your Readers
Regularly monitor your blog traffic through implementing good stats and monitoring tools like Google Analytics. Read readers’ comments, measure your results by what they are saying and if necessary make the needed adjustments. First impressions matters and your blog design plays an important factor here. You can always play with your blog design but remember that whatever design you decides on agree with your company’s identity.
Using a blog to promote your home based business is not different in most ways from making money blogging. However, business blogging has its own unique pitfalls. If you must successfully include a blog in your home business marketing strategy ensure that you have a clear indication of what you want. Put the above tips into use and never forget that your business blog is simply a marketing tool for your home business website.
