How to Write a Good Blog Title: SEO Title Tips!

Putting together a blog post is like constructing a building. There are different parts to the blog that will make it achieve your purpose. But of all these the title is the most important.

Crafting a powerful title for your blog post is a skill you must master as a blogger. Your post titles are simply headlines that could make or break your posts!

In this post I want to reveal a simple tactic that you can use to greatly empower your post titles. I’m sure you’ve heard about the why and how to optimize your titles for the search engines. All that is good stuff. But the tactic I want to reveal here is something that will take your post titles to another level when it come to search engine optimization.

This simple tactic could really be laid out in 3 components. But I’ll simply handle it by breaking it up as follows:

Writing blog titles that work

1. Write For Your Regular Readers:

The first aspect of your blog title you want to work on is writing a title that will peek the interest of your regular readers. To get this right you want to know what has been popular with your readers and the topic you’re dealing with in your particular blog post.

Once you’ve these in place, craft a blog title that will make them click and read more.

Remember your regular readers will not go to google before they come to your blog. They are not searching for your site. Either they will come via RSS feed or they might simply enter your blog URL into their blowser.

But once they are on your blog, the first thing that will entice them to read more is the title. So put in your best in writing that title. Frankly you may forget about seo here as that will be taken care of below!

Well, that’s not much or is it?

On to #2!

2. Polish Your Title For The Search Engines:

Now this is where the fun starts.

I know you’re not writing only for your regular readers. You also want to get more search engine traffic, or don’t you?

Ok, search engine traffic is frankly a different ball game. To achieve that you’ll need to make sure that your post does not only appear on the search engine results but the title actually makes people to click and visit your blog.

What you need do is to easily work on the same title you’ve written and make it do the work for you. You can easily do this with any seo plugin like All In SEO Pack plugin.

Once you’ve this installed, before publishing your blog post, take the same title you’ve written and rework it. Ensure that you build in a little curiosity and your target keywords/phrases into it. Enter the new title into the SEO box in your writing section. It’s something like this:

seo title image

3. Shorten and SEO The Post Link:

One other thing you can do to empower the title is to shorten and seo the post link. This can be done easily using the new permalink feature of wordpress. Just below the title pane you’ll see the post permalink.

shorten blog title example

Click on the “Edit” button and then enter a short and optimized link with your keywords/phrase. For example on this post the permalink is, “http://webincomejournal.com/1325/headlines-simple-seo-tactic.” Once you’ve entered what you want click on “ok”.

4. Craft A Powerful Description For The Post:

The last thing you’ll want to do before publishing your post is to enter a description for the post.

Understand that when it comes to search engine marketing what will help your blog article to achieve its purpose of drawing traffic to your blog is its ability to offer something of interest to the searcher.

Getting on the first page of Google is nothing. What really matters is that people click on your links and visit your blog. And most times what will achieve this is not just the title but the title in conjunction with the description.

It must interest you to know that if you don’t give the search engines a description, they will simply take the first few words on your post and return that as the description. Or most times they return your blog home description!

This does not only affect the search engine ranking of that post but also may not peek the interest of that particular searcher.

So how do you give the search engines a description for each of your post?

You simply take that post’s target keywords/phrases and write a short description for the post. All In One SEO Pack plugin is handy here also. Just below the title pane of the plugin you’ll see the pane for the description. Enter the description here. For example, for this post here is the description I used,

“Writing SEO blog titles are a good way of driving organic targeted traffic from the search engines. Read this post and discover a simple way of doing this..!”

Now if you look at that description you’ll discover that those sentences never appeared any where on the post itself. But simply putting them there is a boost to the effectiveness of the post when it appears on the search engine results.

So Let’s See The Results Of This Simple SEO Tactic!

Yes, I want to show how this tactic will come out at the end of the day! So let’s use this very blog post. I’ve just published it before taking this screen shots. First how the post appears on your blog page:

the blog title

and here’s how it appears on your title bar:

title bar example

Do you note that the post title on the blog page is different from the one on the title bar? The one on the blog is visible to your readers why the one the task bar is what searchers will see on the search engines.

This is really powerful. You can use this to empower your blog titles for more SEO results every time!

So let’s hear what you think of this tactic. Have you been using it? If so how effective has it been to you?

I rank number one for one of the most competitive key terms out there on Google.

Can you take a guess what it is?

It’s online marketing. You know what?

Guess how much money that one keyword makes me?

Little to nothing.

Why?

Because I picked the wrong keyword to rank number one for.

Hey everyone, I’m Neil Patel, and today I’m gonna share with you how to find the right keywords to rank number one on Google for.

The first tip I have for you is go put in your competitor URL, in Semrush. What Semrush will show you is your most popular pages, that your competitors are getting getting traffic for.

This will give you ideas of what your competitors are doing. If your competitors are bigger than you, they probably know what they’re doing, and they’re probably going after keywords and traffic, that’s converting into leads and sales.

You wanna make sure you look at your strategy before you come up with your own. Once you’ve figured out their most popular pages, go take those pages and go put them into Ahrefs.

Ahrefs will show you how many links each of those pages have, and you know what the hardest thing is, is to build links?

What you wanna do is go look for the most popular pages that has the least amount of links. That means those are the pages you should be focusing on first. It’ll give you ideas on all the keywords that your competitors are ranking for when they don’t have a ton of backlinks.

That’ll give you idea of the ones you should be targeting first, ’cause not only will they drive you a lot of traffic, but they’re the lease competitive because you don’t have to build backlinks.

The second tip I have for you is use Google Search Console. Did you know that Google gives you a free tool that helps you rank number one? Yes, it’s called Google Search Console. It breaks down all of your rankings, the key words that your pages are getting traffic for, and even the positioning as page 1, page 2, page 3, the six spot on page one, right? It breaks down exactly where you’re ranking.

Now the cool part about Google Search Console is when you dive deep into each of your pages using the search analytics, it shows you all of the impressions that you’re getting for keywords that you’re on the bottom of page one for. The reason you wanna go after the keywords that you’re at the bottom of page one for, it’s way easier to rank number one for a keyword, that you’re already on the first page for, versus going after a brand new keyword that you’re not even in the top hundred for.

Going after a brand new keyword that you’re not even in the top hundred for, is a lot more work than going after one that you’re already on the bottom of page one for.

While you realize that Google Search Console is that you rank for a lot of long tail keywords at the bottom of page one, that you’re not even trying to go after, but yet they drive traffic, and they convert visitors into customers.

So once you have those keywords, you wanna look at them, and Google Search Console shows you all these keywords. You wanna then go to your landing page, and make sure that those keywords are are in your title tag, your meta description, your heading tag, and within the content of your page. By doing that, you’ll slowly start increasing your rankings for those pages that you’re at the bottom of page one for.

The last tip I have for you to finding amazing keywords is to use Google Trends. It’s another free tool by Google. It breaks down keyword traffic from web images, news.

This breaks down what keywords are climbing in popularity, and you wanna go after the keywords that aren’t popular yet, but are climbing.

Foe example, Apple has a ton iPhones, right? I don’t know what’s the next one they’re gonna release, but let’s say it’s the iPhone 100. If they’re gonna release the iPhone 100, you wanna talk about it before everyone else is talking about it, because the moment you’re one of the first adopters, one of the factors that Google has when it comes to rankings is time.

It’s hard to outrank older pages. It’s not impossible, it’s just harder, so why not be one of the first people to blog about new terms that aren’t popular yet. So, let’s say the iPhone 100 is coming out. You can be blogging about it. You can be blogging about iPhone 100 cases, iPhone 100 apps, new features that they have, and even if you don’t know ’em all, just blog about the ones you do know about. You could even make your own predictions. Let’s say you don’t even know anything about the iPhone 100.

You could be writing articles about huh, here’s my 10 predictions for the iPhone 100. Even if they’re wrong, that’s okay. You’re not lying to people. As long as you’re taking really good educated guesses, and providing amazing content, people won’t have issues.

So write about new upcoming keywords, because you’re not gonna get traffic from them right away, but in two, three months, or even a year, you’re gonna be dominating, because no one else went after those keywords before you did. Just think about green tea, and acai berries, and all of those hot crazy nutrition terms. Yes, they’re really popular now, and they’re buzz words, but back in the day, no one was really looking at them.

If you’re not sure what keywords are up and coming, just tell me the keyword, or link in the comments below using the Google Trends link, and I’ll tell you if it’s a good keyword, or a bad keyword, if it’s up and coming, or it’s declining.

That way you’re not wasting your time writing articles on stuff that won’t be popular.

How to Succeed with Inbound Marketing in 5 Easy Steps!

Do you do inbound marketinging? If so, do you really understanding what inbound is all about?

Indeed, in the recent past incound marketingas a marketing word has become a buzz among internet marketers and, especially bloggers. Corned by the good folks at HubSpot.com the term has become for many, the internet marketing magic wand you need to succeed widely on the net!

Of course, I wouldn’t doubt that. However, it’s rather unfortunate that of those talking, only a few really know what inbound marketing is. On various occasions I have heard many of these self proclaimed ‘ experts’ refer to marketing as one and the same as inbound marketing!

Of course, the two terms can definitely be used interchangeably but, is inbound marketing all about content marketing?

Can simply creating and distributing content online with the mind of selling a product or service be referred to as an inbound marketing?

In this blog article, I aim to clear some of the misconceptions about inbound marketing. If you are considering marketing your online using inbound marketing or you are somehow already doing so, the following information will help you better understand and effectively implement this marketing strategy that is taking the internet by storm!

Understanding the concept of inbound marketing

Now, I must say that ever before HubSpot came about the word “inbound marketing” and many online marketers jumped at the it, I have been working with the concept of inbound marketing. This is because right from my early days on the net I read a book, “The Affiliate Marketing Masters” that laid out this concept despite the fact that it never called it that.

But the foundational knowledge I got from that ebook has always formed the basis of my marketing strategy. The concept is based on the fact that people go online not to be sold to but to get information. As a marketer therefore, all you need to do is to position your brand, product or service as the go-to expert for the needed information. By so doing, you would be attracting the right prospects and instead of chasing them!

This is why inbound marketing is also referred to as “pull marketing” as opposed to the traditional “push marketing”!

With that being said, et’s have a working definition of the term “inbound marketing”.

What Really Is Inbound Marketing?

Here’s what Wikipedia.com has to say about inbound marekting:

“Inbound marketing is the promotion of a company or other organization through blogs, podcasts, video, eBooks, newsletters, whitepapers, , physical products, marketing, and other forms of content marketing which serve to attract customers through the different stages of the purchase funnel.”

And HubSpot.com, the people generally accepted as corning the term “inbound marketing”, has this to say:

“Inbound marketing is about using marketing to bring potential customers to you, rather than having your marketing efforts fight for their attention. Sharing is caring and inbound marketing is about creating and sharing content with the world. By creating content specifically designed to appeal to your dream customers, inbound attracts qualified prospects to your business and keeps them coming back for more.”

Simply put, inbound marketing is a general term for different marketing techniques that are combined into an overall marketing plan to produce outstanding results.

Now, the key to understanding this definition is the word COMBINED.  You must understand that these techniques are “combined” not “strung” together.

Before now, marketers using what is now referred to as outbound marketing, adopted fragmented techniques like print advertising, internet advertising, PR, cold calling, etc. in an attempt to boost sales.

The intent then was to reach as many prospects as possible. It doesn’t matter to the outbound marketer if the prospect needed that product or service at that very moment. It was simply about pushing out different marketing messages with the mind of seeing which one would stick!

Now, that strategy was nothing but the old “foot-in-the-door sales technique” when you go knocking on doors and ‘forcing’ yourself into the homes of prospective clients, trying to convince them of how wonderful your product is!

Indeed, outbound marketing was nothing but a hit and miss affair!

Inbound marketing, on the other hand, puts the focus on the prospect/customer instead of your product, service or company. Instead of using some clever hard sell tactics to get the sale from the reluctant and indifferent prospects or customers, you position yourself and make the business come to you.

How to Succeed with Inbound Marketing

Steps to inbound marketing success

To succeed with inbound marketing, there are certain fundametnal steps you need to take. If you understand this and follow through with these steps you can be sure of succeeding as an inbound marketer.

Here are the 5 simple steps to creating a successful inbound marekting strategy:

1. Listening

Every successful inbound marketing campaign begins with research. You need to know what the demand is and where it is coming from. Creating your inbound marketing content without any research is nothing but operating with the outbound marketing mindset.

You need to research what you competition is doing, what your prospects and customers need and what they are saying about you, your product or service.

The good thing is that you don’t have to look far as the internet has a lot to offer you about this research. You can use the search engines and keyword tools to know what your target audience are asking or looking for.

Social media sites come handy here also.

Now, whenever I hear anyone, SEO is dead while proclaiming to be an inbound marketer, I immediately know that that person have a wrong understanding of what inbound marketing is.

SEO is simply one of the old techniques that is necessary in inbound marketing. SEO helps you to produce the ‘right’ content that will help you attract the right prospect based on your research.

I do not just recommend understanding the basics of SEO as an inbound marketer because I am an SEO web content writer but because it is really the bedrock of creating the right content for your inbound marketing campaign.

2. Producing

As mentioned above, once you have listened and understood what your existing and prospective customers’ needs are from the conversations they are having online, your next move is to produce content that address those needs.

You should aim to be the go-to-resource by positioning yourself as a voice and authority in your industry. This way, prospective clients or customers will be attracted to you instead of you running after them.

It is important to note that creating quality and useful content that engages the attention of your prospects and customers is actually the most vital part of your inbound marketing strategy. It is what truly drives the inbound marketing wheel. This is why many see content marketing as one and the same as inbound marketing!

It is important therefore that as a business if you are hard up on time or you simply lack the in-house resources to create valuable web content, you mustn’t hesitate in hiring professional content writers since this will pay handsome dividend in the long run.

3. Engage

Inbound marketing is not a one-way traffic. It is not just about listening and producing quality content. That is nothing but ‘old school’ outbound marketing.

Working with what you know about your target audience in your research and using your content as a launching pad, you should move beyond that and aim to know them more ‘intimately’. Engage with them in order to gain their trust.

One effective way to do this is through social media. With social media you can spark a two-way conversation with your prospects/customers. Facebook is big right now. Take advantage of it.

There are tools that will help you set up keyword alerts to notify you of discussions about you and your product or service. One such service is Google alerts.

Email marketing is another old technique that you can use. Initiate the conversation on social media and then find a way of also getting them on your email list where you work on developing the relationship.

4. Transform

The ultimate aim of marketing is actually the resultant sale. Prospects and website visitors need to be converted into leads while leads must be converted to customers.

Through your engagement and lead nurturing, you expertly move every prospect through the buying cycle and ensure that when they are ready to buy, you will definitely be the ultimate choice!

This demands creating more and different types of content focused on the different stages of the buying cycle. Work with your insights and interactions and create the right type of content required.

At this stage you definitely need an email management system to drive your engagement and lead nurturing. There’s no better way to do this than through and autoresponder like GetResponse.com.

5. Grooming

Effectively engage with your prospects

If you have been online for some time By now, you already know that things change easily and quickly online. This calls for a constant improvement of your inbound marketing strategy. You should continuously analyze, track and ensure your content is updated to keep leads, not only engaged but also to remain loyal to your brand.
Continuously improve on your offerings to stay on top of what is working.

Simply put, rinse and repeat!

Conclusion

From the above you will understand that content is the bedrock of inbound marketing. This accounts for why many see content marketing as one and the same with inbound marketing. But as you have seen, inbound marketing is actually more than content marketing.

Nevertheless, for you to TRULY succeed with your inbound marketing strategy, you need not just content but high quality content. If, as a business, you lack in house expertise on content creation the better route to take is to get quality professional SEO content writers to help you with your web content.

After 7+ years as a blogger I can rightly say, blogging is like a two-edged sword – handle it rightly and you will enjoy the benefits; misuse it and you’re sure to get hurt!

The unfortunate thing is, many small business owners and approach blogging with a mindset that is tantamount to sabotage!

3 Blogging Mistakes (Sins) that Can Cost You Your Business!

In this post, I want to highlight the top 3 business blogging mistakes you must avoid if you desire to get the best from your business blog.

Ready for this? Then let’s get started:

1. Not Aligning Your Blog with Your Business Objective

Align your blog content with your business objectives

This is indeed a sin of the highest order!

One thing I have discovered about blogging in the past few years is the EASE with which you can be thrown off your chosen path. I have seen very many passionate bloggers who started their blogs which the mind of promoting their home based business.  They were fired up having heard of the wonderful things a blog can do for your small business website.

Unfortunately, in a bid to increase blog comments on their blogs and because of the influence of other blogs which they were frequenting in order to drive traffic through comments, these entrepreneurs who started well were soon distracted by what they read on the blogs they frequented. Most times these blogging entrepreneurs, forgetting their business purpose and , suddenly start writing about blogging tips and other make money blogging content because, to them, these topics are more popular amongst bloggers.

If you have fallen into this error, you are committing a heinous SIN against your business! You must understand that RELEVANCE is the key word when it comes to building your business through blogging. When a visitor comes to your business blog your content must be able to give him/her a sense of what you are offering. Don’t write about the latest updates when your business is, selling men’s wear!

Know your target audience and focus your content at that one persona!

2. Not Generating Leads with Your Blog

Your blog shoul help you drive leads for your business

As mentioned above, one of the benefits of blogging is growing a list of potential customers. Your blog should therefore have a system for capturing these leads in the first place and then nurturing them into paying customers. If you are not doing this right now with your business blog then you’re sinning against your business!

Of course, many bloggers have the wrong notion that adding an RSS feed subscription is enough for your blog. But the truth is RSS feeds have limitations as they are not designed for selling – something you will want to do as a business.

To build a responsive list that will help you build your business you need a reputable lead management system. There are many good lead management system providers out there that you can choose from. In choosing it is important that you choose those that offer autoresponder services which will allow you to automate most of the lead management process.

One autoresponder that you can depend on any day any time is GetResponds.com. This is one email list management system that is very popular with successful online business owners. One good thing is that you can test run the system for free for a whole month before opting to pay for it. Frankly, I must say this alone is GOLD as the training you get will help you greatly in your business.

3. Creating Content That Stinks

great content works great for your business goals

There’s no doubt about it, your blog exist to help you create content that will engage, excite and entice your target audience to take the action you desire. So content is actually the driver of a blog’s success.

Now, it is true that you don’t need some professorial qualification to create your blog’s content, but the fact is, if your blog content is below par you will have more people clicking away from your site than you will have them clicking to visit!

Many people will judge your expertise and how qualified you are in your niche by the content you post on your blog. This being so, it is important that you run away from posting content that is filled with misspellings and that is badly written on your business blog. Too many grammatical errors and misspellings will only help in driving away potential customers.

SUGGESTION: If you have challenges creating high , either get other people (freelancers) to create content for you or better still, get a voice to text converter.

With a voice to text converter you will find it much easier to produce content for your blog as all you need is to “talk” your articles while the software types it out for you. This way you don’t need to fear misspellings and grammatical errors. Besides, you will have a more “conversational” sounding article which will be more engaging!

One voice to text converter that I will readily recommend is the Dragon Naturally Speaking software. Dragon is presently the world’s bestselling speech recognition software. It will not only turn your talk into text but can also help in making other computer tasks easier and faster.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking Premium 13.0For example, the Dragon NaturallySpeaking Premium 13.0 speech recognition software is three times faster than typing – with up to 99% accuracy. You simply say the words and they will appear on your computer screen. You can also dictate or modify documents, spreadsheets and presentations, manage email, search the Web, post to Facebook and Twitter, and more.

Conclusion:

A blog is a MUST for your online business but you must guide against committing the above blogging mistakes. Ignoring this advice could result in devastating outcomes. As the competition is getting stiffer by the day you must also rise up to the challenge.

What to consider for content marketing in 2017

In the past few years has grown to become a buzz word in the online circle! This can be attributed to the fact that marketers are moving away very fast from the traditional push marketing tactics to “pull” marketing strategies.

For example, a survey conducted in 2011 by Curata uncovered the fact that “twice as many marketers now implement Content Marketing as do print, tv and radio advertising!”

But that was 2011…today, content marketing has so grown that if you are not engaging it to build your small then you are not only leaving money on the table but you’re definitely sabotaging your business success.

1. Create More Visual Content
Use images in your content

Before 2013 content marketing was mostly associated with blog posts. The written text was mainly the focus. But with the growing popularity of images and video content on online platforms like Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, etc, integrating images and/or video into your marketing content is becoming the de facto standard for content across all formats.

Here are some interesting stats about images and visuals that should piqué your interest:

  • Posts with visuals receive 94% more page visits and engagement than those without. This is because people are naturally more attracted to images than they are to links or text.
  • Facebook posts with an image receive, on average, more than twice as many comments as those without.
  • Facebook Photo albums receive 180% more engagement than a normal post.
  • Businesses using infographics in their marketing grow in traffic on average of 12% more than those who don’t.

The fact that social engagement is becoming a very important factor when it comes to SEO, incorporating visual content in your marketing mix is something to consider. This is because images are social-media-ready and social-media-friendly. On platforms they drive more engagement and on your sites/blogs they have a higher chance of being shared than anything else.

Infographics are not only awesome for brand awareness and social-media sharing, they’re also referenced more frequently than any other pieces of content – increasing their reach exponentially.

2. Use High-Quality Text Content

The fact that images and other virtual content are becoming more popular by the day does not mean that the written word has become irrelevant. However, your written content must be valuable and of high quality.

To get the attention of people to engage with your brand through your content you will need to focus on relevant up-to-date content. This demands keeping a finger on the pulse of the news, staying in the know of your industry trends and creating sharable content based on what is important now.

Besides, you will need to offer a perspective and share a philosophy that makes your content helpful, unique, genuine and emotionally engaging. Do extensive research to uncover the words that resonate with your target audience and use these in your content.

Focusing on the user and not just your products and services will help make your content to be appealing enough that the user will be more willing to share it socially.

3. Mobile-First Content

Mobile usage statistics

In our today’s mobile-ized world, people prefer surfing the Web using their mobile devices. In their Mobile Marketing Statistics 2013 compilation, Mobile Talent Management firm, Snaphop reported some mind-boggling mobile usage statistics:

  • Mobile web browsing accounted for 30% of all web traffic in 2012 and is expected to account for 50% by 2014. (Nucleus Research via SourceCon)
  • By 2016, the number of mobile devices is expected to surpass the world’s population–an 18-fold increase between 2011 and 2016. (Cisco)
  • Mobile phones accounted for more than 13% of all web traffic in August 2012. (Cisco)
  • Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Amazon, and Wikimedia are the top 5 media properties accessed on mobile devices (comScore 2013)

With such stats you definitely want to create mobile friendly content that will help you engage these users.

The mobile-first mindset begins with your site design. But beyond that your content should also be created taking into cognizance the mobile users. You will need to know your audience’s mobile habits so as to create the type of content that truly connects with them.

4.

Your content marketing is nothing if it does not drive lead generation for your business. You must therefore include lead capture and trust building through content marketing across the different channels.

Simply creating content that people are willing to share is not enough. Always ensure that you have a squeeze page to effectively capture their email addresses. This should be followed by a long sequence of relevant and well monetized emails!

To succeed with this you will need to map your marketing content to the buying cycle. This means therefore that whether your content is virtual, textual or optimized for mobile, it should target one of the following categories:

Research: 75% of leads fall into this category. Here the lead knows there is a problem and is looking for solutions.

Evaluation: Marketing research has shown that 20% of leads fall into this category. Here the lead has some insight that your product would meet her need and but then evaluates it to be more sure.

Purchase: This is really the good point. Here the lead is ready to buy. 5% of leads fall into this category.

Develop your marketing content with these statistics in mind. Create valuable content with corresponding squeeze pages targeted at these different categories.

Conclusion

Creating marketing content for 2014 and beyond and succeeding in it demands having a clear knowledge of your target audience. Know their behavior online and then package your content to meet their needs. Whether you are using virtual content like images, videos, infographics, slideshare, etc. or the written word, ensure that your content is optimized for the mobile user. Also having a system that helps you to capture the contact details of your targeted audience to further develop the type of relationship that will help you gain and their trust and business is definitely important.

Google SEO: How to Give Your Site a Fighting Chance

As we have mentioned on several occasions in the past, your business website is an essential component of your online business. This is because your business success will mostly depend on what you’re able to achieve with your website. It should be able to do a whole lot of things for this to happen.

For example, as a website owner or “webmaster” your site should constantly drive a healthy flow of visitors since the website would be useless if no-one visits it. It’s pertinent to note that the higher the traffic generated, the higher the number of visitors that can converted to customers! Also, if you run a business, it’s crucial that you grow your site’s popularity otherwise, you won’t be able to achieve online brand awareness.

One of the ways that you can help your website to do all these effectively is optimizing it for the search engines. This is one reason why SEO – Search Engine Optimization – is a hot topic these days.

So, What Is SEO?

SEO refers to the tasks you need to carry out to make your site hot or, at least, interesting enough for search engines to care about it. Fact is, if you think your site isn’t popular right now there are plenty of practical steps you can take to improve your site’s search engine ranking and it into a high performer.

In today’s blog post, I’m want to share with you some dynamite SEO tips that will help you do this. Hope you make good use of this information.

How to Google SEO your site

That being said, here’s how to do Google SEO for your site in 2016 for better results:

1. Make Sure Your Web Host Is Up To Scratch

It might shock you to learn that sometimes the problem doesn’t lie with the site itself. Rather, it can be with the physical hardware it gets hosted on! There are hundreds of thousands of Web hosts these days.

Each one offers varying features and performance. Did you know that search engines like Google penalize sites on slow servers? As you can imagine, that’s quite a worrying thought.

Before we optimize your website, the first thing you need to do is check the server’s performance. There are several free tools you can use to do this. I recommend using the Pingdom Website Speed Test. It also allows you to test your site from various locations around the world. All you need to do is pick one closest to your area.

When the test completes, check out the Page Analysis tab. How much time gets spent at the “connect” and “wait” stages? If the results are high for either, run a couple more tests. Quite often, high times mean your site is on a slow server.

If that’s the case, I recommend moving your website over to a VPS. VPSServer.com is a good place to start. A VPS or Virtual Private Server will offer higher performance and dedicated system resources. A shared server or host won’t guarantee anything like that to your site.

2. Strip Off The Bloat

Assuming the hosting side of things is OK, it’s now time to turn your attention to your website. Most sites these days run content management systems like WordPress. They are brilliant because they make it quick and easy to publish content. They also offer a plethora of customization and layout options.

The only downside to database-driven websites like that is the excess fat they carry! Examples include inefficient plugins, templates and other website “widgets”. Take the opportunity to uninstall what you don’t need.

All too often, ready-made themes come with plugins that you’ll never use. Delete the bloat and keep only what you need. You can then run the Pingdom Website Speed Test again to see the performance difference.

Make your website SEO as simple as possible

3. Keep it simple, stupid!

We’ve all heard of the “KISS” acronym before, and it applies to the world of SEO. The problem with many websites is they are often complicated and hard to follow. The layouts may also not adapt well to mobile devices like smartphones and tablets.

Review the general look and feel of your site. Does it have a simple navigation structure? Is the content easy to read?

One test you could do is to disable JavaScript and CSS in your Web browser. Next, reload your home page. What you see is, in essence, what a search engine like Google will look at. If your site doesn’t make sense at such a basic level, you have a problem!

Often, the simplest solution is to use a different layout or theme for your website. If you use WordPress, for example, it’s easy to select and install a different one for your site.

4. Follow Some Basic SEO Tips

Last, but not least, you need to spend some time making sure you’ve got the SEO basics taken care of on your website! Here are a few SEO tips to help you get started:

  • Page Titles – Keep these short but relevant to the page content;
  • Meta Description tag – Again, ensure it is relevant and includes your main keyword or phrase;
  • Use SEO-friendly URLs – website.com/my-product is easier to understand than website.com/index.php?id=657435&cat=2341234&session=467erdhw352qrwf!

Online Marketing: 2 Sides of the Coin

In today’s highly competitive marketplace, Online Marketing is one of the most effective ways to grow your business. In the recent past, this amazing marketing methodology has helped small scale industries and various start-ups across several domains, to succeed and to capture their audience.

In order to increase your exposure on web, there is a need to leverage SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and SEM (Search Engine Marketing ) strategies according to your business needs.

Basically Search Engine Marketing along with Search Engine Optimization are some of those techniques that can create a deep impact on your audience regarding your product. Therefore, there is an immense need to wisely use these techniques and methods.

how to win the online marketing war!

Steps to Online Marketing Success

The initial step that has to be taken in this regard is “Research”. To study market and marketplace is a necessity. This will in turn help you to understand the competition.

If you really want to be a leader, you will have to bring something unique, something different from the league that can draw the attention of your customers. You must know the characteristics of your market and market audience, their needs and demands and then probably you can make a strategy to package your products, in a way that brings value to your customers.

The second thing that should be kept in mind is that you need to work hard on your web appearance. No matter, how good your product or service is, if in case your appearance on the web is dull, you are lost.

You need to design your website in an optimized way, keeping three things in mind: Market (Your Audience), Sales Process and Search Engines. You should never compromise in utilizing the top notch technology when planning for an effective web presence.

With these measures, you can effectively develop a positive brand image of your services or products and can take a dive in the pool of success.

But this is just one side of the coin.

The Ugly Face of Online Marketing

When we are indulged into the talks of publicity of your brand you should also be aware of the fact that this same tool, so called as “Online Marketing”, can also be used for negative publicity and can destroy your image all in one go. As your every competitor is in the mood of utilizing this technique to capture the market, they are also planning strategies to create negative publicity for your brand.

In the recent times, this ugly face of your competitors have emerged wherein they are using fake social Ids and accounts to post negative comments about your products or services.

The thing to understand here is that, today you are not just doing business, you are fighting a war with all your competitors and the bitter reality is that, everything is fair in this war. Several times these techniques of posting negative comments from dummy/fake social accounts have eventually helped them to pen down their biggest competitors.

So, now if this is the problem statement, biggest question is…

What Can Be The Solution?

One simple solution is to remain true to your promises. What it means is that do not brag about things that you do not provide. Stay relevant about your services and features in your products, highlight things that you provide, never mention anything that is potentially not present in your services or products.

By staying truthful to your promises, your competitors will never have any chance to just brag as in that case you will have proof to prove them wrong.

Another thing that can be adopted here is that, you can add a complain area in your website where your customers can provide complains and grievance. But this complain area, should be taken as a serious feedback by company and no stone should be left unturned to resolve their grievance. Remember, troubled customer is a great business opportunity as this gives us new ideas to expand and improvise the business services.

So, what I wanted to convey here was that when planning a strategy to use Online marketing for your business, there is a need to look on the other factor also. There is a need to plan a strategy to tackle with negative publicity, genuine or non-genuine, but it should be pre-planned, so that you can succeed to leave a positive impact on your audience.

SEO Survival Guide: Top 4 Essential Services For 2018 And Beyond!

In recent times SEO has become a buzzword amongst online marketers. The simple reason is the fact that search engine optimization has become an essential part of all businesses. On balance, companies survive each year because they manage to infuse SEO strategies into their business. Without SEO, they would die. So, to stay alive in a business sense, you also need to keep your SEO strategy alive.

As anyone who has been in the business of search engine optimization would readily tell you, SEO has changed dramatically over the past few years. With Google driving the change, different algorithm changes were pushed into the market in a space of 2 years. These changes affected a large number of websites that SEO experts and professionals have continued to wonder what was going to be the next update.

As much as you will want to be concerned with the direction things, the better thing is to focus on the essentials. That’s why in this post I want to share with you the top essential services that are the lifeblood of search engine optimization.

So, here we go…

1. Social Media

Social media is great for SEO

Social media is free advertising, which in turn means it can increase traffic to your site. How does that work? It works by creating more awareness of your brand as people on social media sites click on posts and view tweets that they would normally see. Then, they become curious and just have to check out what the fuss is about with regards to your company or website. When you put them together and use them properly, social media and SEO are a potent combination.

2. The Google Effect

Although it is called search engine optimization, the reality is that Google is the king of SEO. They are the ones that are creating the algorithms and the rules and regulations that everyone abides by at the moment. And, they are also the biggest search engine on the web, so they have a lot of power. As a result, it is important that your SEO strategy bows down and kisses the ring, so to speak. Make sure that you use Google services like Google Plus and YouTube for more effective results. Because they are Google’s services, they rank more highly in searches.

3. The Experts

When it comes to SEO, there are experts. Just like everything else in the world, people excel in SEO and how to get the best results possible. If you are looking for somewhere to turn, Fort Worth SEO Services are one of the best. Companies like these have an array of skill, knowledge and experience that lets them boost your ranking in no time. It is important that you don’t just pick any expert because some are better than others, and some are terrible. Look for a reputation that you can validate, and a company that has a great track record with reputable clients.

4. Analytics

Analyze SEO for effectiveness

The last thing you should do with SEO is implement the strategies and then leave it to its devices. In that case, you are just assuming it is working when you have no clue. You need a way to codify and quantify the effects of SEO so that you can make improvements and tweaks for maximum effect. Analytics is the tool that will show you exactly what’s happening when someone visits your site. It will show you whether they are ‘bouncing’ or whether they are converting from traffic into a sale. Also, it will show you what part of your site is the most popular and what is the weakest. All this information is vital if you want to survive in SEO.

Take Away

SEO is indeed important for your survival in the business industry today. Focus on these essential services and you will not have any reason to fear what is ahead.
