Revealed: The Top Reason Why Over 95% Of Bloggers Fail!

Top Reason Why Many Bloggers Fail!

There is a pathetic phenomenon happening around the blogosphere of late. More and more bloggers are abandoning their blogs. In the past few months I have personally counted about a dozen of such bloggers MIA (Missing In Action!)

The amazing thing is that most of these bloggers are actually some of those whom you may have looked up to as “successful bloggers!”

Now, no matter what reasons these bloggers may have given for their action, we really should be concerned because, personally, I believe no one changes or abandons a winning team!

In another post I wrote on this same topic when I asked the question:

Why Are You Not Making Money With Your Blog?

While that post identify basically what I called the “bloggers’ mindset” as the main culprit why many bloggers fail to make money online with blogging, I have realized, after about 5 years of running different blogs and interacting with different bloggers, that this problem is actually playing out in different ways.

In this post therefore, I want to reveal to you what I have uncovered after writing that earlier post.

So, Why Do 95% Of Bloggers Fail?

Please note that what I referred to as the “bloggers’ mindset” in the post referenced above has not really changed (you are advised to read it here), today I’m seeing this played out in what I’ll simply call the…

“Herd Mentality”

In my 5 years as a blogger I have seen this to top the list in the manifestation of the bloggers’ mindset.

It’s simply an attempt by many bloggers to “belong” which unfortunately leads them to end up doing just what everyone out there is doing!

Take a trip today round the blogs you have always frequented and you will agree that this is true. Not only will you find the same bloggers posting comments, you will also discover that there is nothing really different in their content – the same tips and strategies; the same dos and don’ts and a common hatred for the probloggers whose tactics and strategies are drastically different from theirs!

None of these bloggers ever question why all the bloggers who read their so-called “expert tips” and strategies every day never go on to become 5-figure bloggers! They never care to question why the same set of bloggers run around the same set of blogs posting comments, meeting on social media and doing other same things over and over again!

They may not know it but the truth is, this is simply the herd mentality in action!

Now, I do not doubt the fact that it is a good thing to build a community around your blog. But if you look critically you will discover that these bloggers are actually seeking for acceptance among others of their kind!

So, How Can You Escape This?

Mark Twain once said:

“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect!”

I think this is the right advice to heed right away. Simply doing what everyone else is doing will only help you achieve the average results being posted by many of these bloggers.

You need to separate yourself from the herd!

Evaluate the crowd you are presently following and if you discover none of these are really posting the type of results you aim to achieve then it is time to step out!

Can you picture the wild for a moment?

Now, which of the animals usually run in herds? They are the prey, right? And why do they do so? Of course, they believe that makes them safer.

How about predators?

These either stay in small groups or run alone!

This is NOT different online.

There are the “producers” and there are the “consumers.” A simple look around will convince you that the “producers” online actually run in small groups. They are always coming up with one product launch after another while the “consumers” (those who have the herd mentality) fall over themselves to either promote or buy these products. In doing this they create a stiff competition among themselves – a competition that is heightening by the day and is now seeing more and more of those in this group being “pushed” off the cliff!

Blogging Is Hard Work; Except With The Right Systems!

You need a blogging planIt is amazing that while bloggers who have the herd mentality are throwing in the trowel a few other bloggers are evolving into business conglomerates with their own systems. For example, CopyBlogger.com started as a one-man blog a few years ago but today it is a business with well over 115,000 unique customers with a team of employees!

Even with its many employees, copyblogger.com understands the rigors of moderating and replying to blog comments. And, what did they do to solve the problem?

Removed blog comments!

That one decision, instead of helping those who have always preached that you MUST reply to every comment if you want to succeed as a blogger see reason, it rather spiked a lot of debate amongst them.

The irony of it all is that they ended up linking back to copyblogger.com thereby giving the site some more free promotion and SEO juice!

Herds Are NEVER Followed but Led Or Fed Upon!

Making money online is like the predator and the prey in the wild

Like I have mentioned earlier, animals that move in herds are always seeking for protection. They are either led by someone else or they fed upon by the “predators.” They are never leaders. So if you desire to lead, if you ever desire to set the pace for others to follow, then it is time to step out of the herd.

You simply need to stop running with the crowd. And you can do this by setting your own rules, questioning the status quo and of course reevaluating your blogging activities. You need to take responsibility for your actions instead of relying some one else.

Of course, if you are just starting out, all of these may seem overwhelming.  But you need not despair because the truth is you are in luck. You can get this 7-Part  Special Guide that reveals the CORE areas you must focus on in order to build your online success. After you have understood the fundamentals you will be able to move on to form your own rules and judgments.

However, if you have gotten stuck with the “herd mentality” and its damnable ideas, you’ll need to do yourself some good and un-learn those things! The truth is I may not be able to help you except you make that decision yourself.

So, the decision is yours to make. Feel free to go run with the herd or pull away today!

I’ll love to read your comments. Whether you like this or not, let me know what you think.

Is Blog Monetization Really A Turn-Off For Blog Readers?

blog monetization with ads

The subject of blog monetization is one that is commonly discussed on many blogs, especially those that are focused on making money blogging. Most of these blogs offer different tactics and methods that are opened to bloggers who want to make money from their blogs.

Among these methods, the most commonly advocated is promoting affiliate products and selling ad spaces on your blog. Selling your own products or services like consulting, freelance content writing and SEO copywriting services are some other methods but these ones are really not very common as most bloggers do not have their own products nor do they know how to turn their specialized expertise into a business!

Now, this is where making money blogging through selling ad spaces have received criticism of recent times with many saying, monetizing a blog through banner ads, google adsense, and other forms of text links, is really an obstruction to blog readers and may even put off many of the readers!

Those in this camp have the notion that a blog should look ‘clean’ without any ads, whether on the sidebar or on the post pages. To them this is how to create a user friendly blog that the readers will love to visit again and again. And that displaying banner ads or Google Adsense on a blog will ultimately drive away readers since they were not on the blog, in the first place, to be sold but for the information they can get!

I’ve really considered this for some time now having heard it from many other bloggers and also heard it discussed on some forums. Personally, I know I switched over from building niche static sites to blogging because I saw the potentials in it. From the very beginning, I saw blogging as a tool, both for marketing your business online and also as a media for making money through selling ad spaces just like any other news media – the radio, television, newspapers, magazines, etc.

I know that many of the probloggers who we revere today actually made their money through running their blogs like any other news media – in fact, many of them still sell ads on their blogs!

Now, there is no doubt that more and more blogs are springing up today most of which are nothing but ad spaces with little content, but can we really say this is enough for us to say displaying banner ads or other forms of ads on blogs is really irritating on blogs?

Today for our general community timeout discussions, I’ve decided to bring this topic before all of us. Let’s discuss the following:

  1. Do you sell ads on your blog or you are of the opinion that blogs should not be monetized with banner ads and other advertising programs like adsense?
  2. Do ads on blogs irritate you? Do you really think they are an obstruction to the usability of the blog? If yes, what in this ads is irritable to you?

I think this is a subject that all of us should be a part of. So share with us your opinion on this subject of monetizing blogs with banner ads and other similar programs. Let’s share our experiences and possibly some tips that will better help us with our blogging success. Post your opinions in the comments below.

As a blogger you definitely have read or heard both newbie and veteran bloggers advice that to make money blogging you need to

Everywhere you turn you receive this type of information as the “insider secrets” to making millions as a blogger.

But have you ever asked yourself if you’re not doing these things? If you’re sincere to yourself you must be doing more than enough. But the question is:

>>> why are you not making the type of income these super probloggers are making right now?

>>> Why is everyone not producing the same results if this is all that it takes to make a six figure income blogging?

To really uncover the secrets of these probloggers I’ve being studying this subject of making money with blogs over the past few years and I’ve asked many questions of successful bloggers trying to understand what really made them successful.

From my research and studies I’ve come to realize that making a six figure income blogging is more than just writing and publishing blog posts. Unfortunately, many of those making six figures as bloggers are not very likely to give you their secrets unless of course, if they can sell it to you in an ebook!

But, the truth is if you are serious about making that amount of money and you’re ready to invest in it, chances are you could be a six figure blog marketing guru as well!

The Secret Is Not Really… A Secret!

Ok, I want to say that what I’ve uncovered is not really a secret except you have not taken time to figure this out before now. When I say it’s a secret uncovered, I’m actually using that phrase as a personal experience. Yes, it’s a secret to many of us but for those who have looked carefully at what the probloggers are doing; it is simply an open secret!

So what is this secret?

Please read carefully…

Six Figure Income Blogging Is More Than Likely Not Done With One Single Blog!

In simple terms, you cannot achieve a six figure income running just one blog. It would take many many blogs to create a six figure income! This is the one secret that has set the probloggers from the pack.

The truth is there is so much that one blog can earn for you! You may be the most wonderful blogger out there but if all your labor is focused on just one blog, you might just be working a job and not building an online business.

How To Put This Six Figure Income Blogging Secret To Work

If you are a blogger who is finding it hard to maintain just one blog, your concern may be, how do you expect to run multiple blogs concurrently when running one is already taking much of your time? If this is your concern then the following may be of help. These are some of the things these probloggers are doing that many of us are not doing right now. From my studies if you’ll add these ones to what you’re already doing, you’ll be on your way to making your own six figure income as a blogger very soon.

1. Be an Entrepreneur and Not Just a Blogger

Sometime ago I wrote a blog post on how to build a business and not just a blog. The truth is making a six figure income blogging demands the mindset of an entrepreneur. If you are still seeing yourself as just a blogger you’ll be missing a whole lot of things. I think this blog post by Yaro Starak will give you an idea about what I’m talking about here. The lesson I learnt from that post is simply the fact that you must be an entrepreneur to make the kind of money you desire as a blogger.

2. Develop Systems

The first thing you should do is to document your blogging activities with the mind of developing systems you can put into use at any time. One of the gains of developing systems is that with such systems you’ll be able to accomplish more with less time. With a tested and trusted system you can easily transfer that knowledge to other markets without much stress.

3. Outsource Your Work

If you truly want to make a six figure income as a blogger then outsourcing some work to others is not a bad idea. Doing all of the work yourself is not something that is possible if you want to make that amount of money. Just be sure that you hire those that you can trust and have a great reputation for getting work done on time and accurately. If you’ve developed systems as suggested above outsourcing your work to others will be much easier as you will be able to decide on an outline of what is needed and provide these to the people you’re hiring. This will ensure that your work can be done to specification. For example you may need some persons to set up your blogs others to write the content for the blogs and yet others to market them using social networking sites. Once your systems are in place all these activities will be done with much ease and to specification. The good news is that you can easily find experts on particular markets in places like this one and pay them for the rights to their articles.

Conclusion: I believe making a six figure income with blogs is definitely something you can do as a blogger. The first thing that you would need to do is find profitable markets. Set up multiple blogs in these markets and then get the right people to manage the blogs for you.  Just be sure that you hire those that know what they are doing and are fluent in the language that you are marketing in as well. Someone that speaks and writes poor English will not help your income, but may hurt it if you have English based readers.

Over to you: Do you agree with the points raised in this article? Do you think having the mindset of an entrepreneur can really help you earn more with your blogging activities? I will be glad if you’ll post your comments below. And please you can help spread this article by bookmarking and sharing it using the buttons below!

How To Make Money Blogging With A Home Based Business Magazine!

As I have written in a previous post, I believe the idea of making money blogging is evolving. And luckily for those who want to make money online blogging, the internet truly offers a lot of opportunities. It doesn’t matter whether you just want to generate some extra or full time income. The beauty of it all is the fact that you can easily build your own business online starting with just what you have.

In this post I want to talk about an underutilized concept of making money blogging. I’ve been thinking about this for some time and the more I do the more it appears appealing. In fact when I started my first website it was the same concept that was in my mind. Though I had to later pull down that website and install a blog because of the strenuous work involved in updating the site, I’ve become more attracted to this concept now with my knowledge of wordpress blogs.

So what is this concept?

It is the idea of starting a business niche e-magazine! Niche focused magazines have been popular over the years and our news stands testify to their success. I believe passionately that this same idea can be carried over onto the internet. You simply need to find a niche starving for information and then create an online business magazine geared towards what they need. This is definitely an online cash cow waiting to be milked by bloggers!

But you may be wondering are not many bloggers already doing this?

Frankly I think what most bloggers are doing is not close to this. There is an important aspect of these online business magazines that bloggers are not taking into consderation, that is, paid subscriptions. Bloggers give away most of their valued content with the mind of generating income by selling ads and promoting affiliate products. But outrightly selling your content like traditional magazines do, is not common with bloggers. That is where this concept comes in. It is simply taking what we are already doing to another level. It’s about creating a monthly or weekly income online selling subscrition to your content. Infact some of the popular online news sites are already doing this since some of them have monthly and weekly subscriptions.

A Quick Guide To Making Money Blogging Using Online Magazines

Ok, here is a simply strategy I’d use if I’m to create a niche online business magazine as a blogger.

1. Do Your Research: As we all know one of the keys to building a successful business on the net is deciding on your target niche. It’s not different here. So the first thing I’ll do if I’m to create an online business magazine is to do some research. The purpose here is to decide on my target niche and also to absolutely know what is happening within that niche. This is critical and must not be taken lightly.

Research using search engines, amazon.com, and other online research tools will come in here. However, there is a way of knowing how your target community is currently having their interests and needs met. The simple way of finding this out is to find different groups related to the particular topic you want to create your online business magazines around. And the right place to find such groups is at groups.google.com and groups.yahoo.com.

Of course there are other community oriented websites out there but these are the two largest ones. Once you’re on any of these sites look for the particular groups that you are interested in. For example, if we want to create  an online business magazine on parenting, Yahoo! Groups reveals that there are many different categories. Besides, you’ll also have access to different groups targeting these different categories. In fact when I checked there were about 50640 groups on parenting! This information can help you focus your efforts on how to word and structure your magazine. By reading into the messages that are posted you can be sure that you are hitting appropriate topics.

2. Create Your Content: As a blogger you already know the importance of content. But note here that your content should be such that your target audience will be willing to pay a price for it. That is the only way of ensuring that they renew their subscription every month. So the question is how do you get such content on an on-going basis? There are actually a few ways. One of such is bringing in guest writers who can package usuable content on your target niche. You could arrange a method of paying for their services. This is just similar to getting columnists and feature writers in traditional magazines.

Another way is through PLR content. This is much more popular online. Join niche focused PLR membership sites and with your membership you’ll get a regular supply of materials you could feed into your online magazine. Most PLR sites are really good in that they not only give you PLR articles but content like videos, ebooks, audio files etc. All these will greatly enhance your earning power if you can add a little creativity.

3. Design Your Online Magazine Using WordPress: I truly believe the wordpress blogging platform is ideal for this type of business for a few reasons. One, there are already different types of magazine-style wordpress themes in the market and two, wordpress can easily be used as a subscription website. With these advantages coupled with the ease of setup and customization, setting up your online business magazine using wordpress is a breeze!

Another reason why I will advocate using the wordpress blogging platform is the fact that with wordpress you can easily feature excerpts of your articles for public view while hiding the details only for those who subscribe. Doing this have the advantage of search engine optimization as the search engines can always pick up the excerpts. So whenever any one searching for that topic comes to your site, he/she is presented with the excerpts while the details stays hidden from view!

4. Receiving Payments: Of course this is another plus for wordpress. There are wordpress plugins that makes this quite easy. Intergrating paypal and clickbank buttons into wordpress using these plugins is a matter of minutes. Many membership sites are already being run using the wordpress blogging platform. Example of this is the Membership Site Masterplan revealed by Yaro Starak in one of his free ebooks. You can download the free ebook here and discover some of the insider tips on building a profitable membership site.

I must say this online business model for making money blogging is something that needs trying out. As blogging for business continues to evolve this may just be the next online business idea. It may not be something new but just a twist of what we have always had. But is there really anything new on the net?

Who knows may be very soon we will be seeing more of these types of online business magazines, but when that time comes remember you first heard it here! 🙂

Or have you heard of it before now? Then why don’t you tell us about it. Will love to hear your comments.
